This workshop with @jazsinghdeol offers a contemporary, practical approach to screen acting, rooted in truth, impulse and an understanding of how performance translates on camera. Focusing on the realities of working within the frame, the session will explore how to play clear objectives while maintaining authenticity under the technical demands of screen work. Actors will work on connecting to their inner life, responding instinctively in the moment, and building behaviour that feels both truthful and compelling to watch. You’ll investigate how performance shifts across different shot sizes, and how to remain present under pressure. Jaz will guide participants through on-camera work that blends a range of established techniques into a process that is immediate, practical, and camera-ready. This workshop is ideal for actors looking to deepen their screen craft, sharpen their instincts, and develop a more grounded, watchable presence on camera. Jaz Singh Deol is a screen actor and acting coach whose work spans television, film, and independent production. He is best known for his role as a series regular on EastEnders, and his screen credits include Toxic Town (Netflix), The Killer (dir. John Woo), and Viceroy’s House (dir. Gurinder Chadha). Alongside his acting career, Jaz produced and starred in the award-winning short film Terminal, which explores gambling addiction through the lens of FOBT machines. As a coach, Jaz has taught at leading institutions including The Actor’s Studio (Pinewood), Identity Drama School, Kingdom School of Arts, and Collective Actors. His teaching draws on a blend of Strasberg, Meisner, and Chubbuck techniques, shaped into a clear, practical approach designed to help actors deliver truthful, instinctive performances on camera.

This three day intensive masterclass with @davids_nakedface offers a genuinely revelatory experience, an understanding of how the lens of the camera relates to facets of your inner self - and how you can use that to communicate through it on a much deeper level as an actor. You will work with Director, David Penn, in a small group, exploring beyond what might be termed the more conventional techniques. You will come to understand some fundamental truths about the game to which most are blind. You will find the discovery process a liberating experience. All three days are important on this course but day one is essential David Penn has been directing actors in theatre, television and film for over thirty years. He was resident staff director at the Bristol Old Vic and the National Theatre in London where he worked as the assistant to Harold Pinter, David Hare and Tom Stoppard. David has directed both contemporary and classic plays at home and abroad. David has directed drama on all the major UK terrestrial channels, BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Five as well as on Sky 1. He also writes and has delivered two original screenplays, one of which is currently being considered for major production... David teaches The Naked Face throughout Europe. Preparation: Actors should come with a learnt, duologue scene, not much more than a page in length, one that’s emotionally confrontational, not just chat or action; plus with a hard copy so that one of the other actors can read in the other character, off-camera.
