Celebrate 45 years since Stig of the Dump first aired in 1981 with a special afternoon of screenings and a live Q&A featuring stars Keith Jayne and Grant Warnock @the_cinema_museum in London Sunday 31st May 2pm Based on Clive King’s beloved novel, Stig of the Dump tells the story of a modern-day boy who befriends Stig, a Stone Age caveman, after discovering him living in a chalk pit. The series captured young imaginations with its mix of adventure, humour, and themes of friendship across time. Grant Warnock, who left the world of acting after the series, returns for the first time to speak about the show that shaped a generation. Keith Jayne, now back in acting after a brief time away from the limelight, will reflect on his experiences and the programme’s lasting impact. The event will also feature screenings of selected episodes, hosted by TV and film historian John Mabey, famed for the Channel Hopper podcast, who will provide insight into the show’s history and cultural legacy. After the Q&A there will be a meet and greet where the audience will be able to purchase memorabilia and autographs. In our most recent episode of the podcast, we are delighted to share this interview with Rachel Beasley and Keith Jayne! (@actorkeithjayne ) You can listen by searching for ‘Down the Line Secret Army’ whereever you listen to your podcasts, or by following the link in our bio. - They played Marie-Clare and Wym, the two oldest orphan children in the Christmas episode of Secret Army, S2E10 Guests at God’s Table. A huge thank you to them both for being a guest on the show! Don’t forget you can donate to one (or both!) of their chosen charities. Keith nominated: @childrenshospicesw Rachel nominated: @marysmealsukcharity - It was a joy to hear about their experiences of being as child actors, as well as what it was like to work on Secret Army. We chatted about how they got the parts, what it was like to work with director Terrence Dudley, and meeting cast members such as Stephen Yardley and Angela Richards. We also hear about what careers they’ve embarked upon in adulthood and how Keith has recently returned to acting. - The scenes of the children in this episode really brought home the impact of war on children. And it was moving to see Marie-Clare and Wym look after the other 2 children despite being so young themselves. Their characters are so resourceful, trading the airman for food and gifts so Bobo and Gabby could ‘have a good St Nicholas’. They also bravely hand over the airman (disguised as St Nicholas) in plain sight, and even sing in German to better appeal to the occupying soldiers and get more money off them! We hope you will enjoy! Our next episode about S2E11 ‘A Matter of Life and Death’ is out on Saturday 18th April. Thanks for listening! 🫶 #secretarmy #keithjayne #70stv #terrencedudley #stnicholasday

An original Polaroid from filming ‘The Onedin Line’ just prior to my death scene in 1979 off the coast of Falmouth as my character Tom Arnold dies from …..Rice Krispie and glue burns!. That really was the make-up back then. Plus the wig of course!
