OpenAI has launched a new finance feature for ChatGPT Pro users in the U.S. that lets people connect bank and investment accounts to track spending, savings, and financial activity.
The system uses Plaid to connect with over 12,000 institutions, including Chase, Fidelity, Schwab, Robinhood, Amex, and Capital One, giving users a single view of money flow and subscriptions.
The update follows OpenAI’s purchase of a finance startup team from Hiro, helping shape the new tool, though the company has not detailed their exact role.
Users can activate it through the Finances tab or a chat command, with future support planned for Intuit to expand tax and credit insights.
OpenAI says millions already use ChatGPT for financial questions, and the latest model improves accuracy in handling complex money-related queries.
Users can disconnect accounts anytime, with data removed within 30 days, and the feature is currently limited to Pro users on web and iOS.
