We're working in Places across England and supporting our Active Partnerships to help more people be physically active in their local communities and feel the benefit in their mental health. Here's just some of the fantastic work they are doing:
🔵 Yorkshire Sport Foundation have worked with Youth Sport Trust, The Julia Rausing Trust and local partners to support Secondary Schools across Barnsley and Doncaster deliver targeted interventions as part of the Boys Move Programme. Schools work with young men to reengage with education, encouraging positive social behaviour, find a sense of belonging and tackle mental health concerns through the power of movement and sport.
🔵 Through Place Universal Offer Test & Learn funding, Active Devon is supporting The Wave Project in Croyde with the Equity in Surfing project. This means surfers can access the Adaptive Surf Hub, equipment, instructors and volunteer support for one fair price.
🔵 To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, Active Kent & Medway is launching a new Mental Health Support Framework for clubs and organisations across Kent and Medway. The framework turns awareness into practical action, helping clubs and Club Welfare Officers take simple, realistic steps to create supportive environments and confidently signpost people to help.
🔵 Active Cornwall provides wellbeing walk leader training, partnering with a range of organisations across the county to deliver regular Wellbeing Walks. Joan’s experience with The Sensory Trust has significantly improved her mental health and wellbeing.

🚶♂️✨ What a fantastic day at BB! ✨🚶♀️
We were delighted to welcome Active Devon, who took our Year 3 pupils on an exciting Walkability adventure!
The children kicked things off with an engaging classroom session, learning all about the Green Cross Code, safe crossing habits, and what different road signs mean 🚦📚
Then it was time to put their knowledge into action! Out on the roadside, they confidently practised their new skills, showing great awareness and responsibility 👏
A huge well done to our Year 3s for their enthusiasm and brilliant participation—and thank you to Active Devon for such a valuable and fun experience! 💚

🔥🔥🔥GAME OF THE DAY🔥🔥🔥
Our focused Game of the Day comes from the Wellington Khaki Soxs visit to the @plymouthoutlaws
Wellington Khaki Sox came out on top in a high-scoring, back-and-forth contest, defeating the Plymouth Outlaws 15–12 in a game packed with extra-base hits, stolen bases, and momentum swings across all six innings.
The Outlaws wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first. After Leo Back led off with a single, James Platten drove in the opening run with a base hit. Iman Samarakoon added another RBI on a groundout before Danidu Samarakoon broke the inning open with a two-run homer down the left field line, giving Plymouth a 4–0 lead after one.
Wellington responded in the second inning. After working a pair of walks and advancing runners with stolen bases, Martin Johnson delivered a two-run single to cut the deficit to 4–2.
The third inning saw both offences explode. The Khaki Sox surged ahead with a five-run top half, highlighted by Scott McDaniel’s two-run double and Alexander Roberts’ two-run home run to centre. Craig Worden also contributed an RBI single in the rally. Trailing 7–4, the Outlaws answered
Despite the deficit, Plymouth continued to battle. In the bottom of the fifth, Neil Edwards singled home a run and Leo Back followed with a two-run single to close the gap to 15–10. The Outlaws added two more in the sixth, capitalising on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Iman Samarakoon to make it 15–12 and bring the tying run to the plate.
However, Wellington held firm. Leo Back grounded out to end the game, stranding runners and sealing a 15–12 victory for the Khaki Sox.
George Sinnott was the standout performer for Wellington Khaki Sox, blasting two home runs and driving in seven runs, including a decisive grand slam. He was well supported by contributions from across the lineup, including Roberts and McDaniel. For the Outlaws, Danidu and Iman Samarakoon both homered and combined for multiple RBIs, while Back and Edwards provided key late-inning offence.
Cox earned the win for Wellington, while Samarakoon took the loss in a game defined by explosive hitting and relentless pressure from both sides.
