Another great night of fundraising in Sheboygan! @active8sheb coordinated SOUP (support our urban projects) crowdfunding dinner! Active8sheb volunteers coordinated soup, salad, bread dinner, donated by local restaurants (@paradigmcoffeeandmusic@redshortscafe@thehubstudiocafe@texasroadhouse@3sheepsbrewing@juniorseats@localpresseatery !!! All proceeds went to the winning community project. This year’s winner was the Sheboygan Warming Shelter, for their washer/dryer project #sheboygan #active8sheb #crowdfunding #community #kindness
Our 10th SOUP dinner will take place in just ten days, so be sure to mark your calendar and tell your friends and family! The event is scheduled for Sunday, April 28th, at 1:00 PM.
We would like to take a moment to express our deepest appreciation to 3 Sheeps Brewing Company for hosting us, as well as to our amazing food sponsors: Olive Garden, Festival Foods, Paradigm Coffee and Music, Seeboth Delicatessen, Uptown Social, and Trattoria Stefano. An Italian.
Without your generous contribution and unwavering support, this event would not be possible, and we are truly grateful for your efforts in making our community a better place!
SOUP IX is a wrap. We had 4 passionate, creative, and driven presenters. We're over the moon to announce we raised $1,215 for the winning project!
Our winner is Eileen with Beat! A Musical Garden.
Thank you to presenters:
Leslie with We Are Sheboygan County Niki and Kendra with Rock the Block
Kate with Books on Bikes
We couldn't do it without our generous sponsors:
Paradigm Coffee and Music
Sheboygan Senior Community
Uptown Social
Chili's Grill & Bar
Panera Bread
3 Sheeps Brewing Company
And thank you to our community for showing up and supporting ideas to make Sheboygan even better.

Surprise! One last board member to meet, Dana!! She may be last, but definitely not least 😃. Let’s learn a bit more about her!
.
.
➡️Why did you join Active8 Sheboygan?
I joined Active8 because I love the creative programming focused on creating a more rooted, engaged, and proud community in Sheboygan.
.
.
➡️What do you enjoy most about volunteering?
I’m an outcomes driven person. The best thing about volunteering is seeing the after effect. Whether it’s sitting on the concrete furniture of the Living Room Project, driving by whale mural from the Happiness Project, or using my spice blend from the Census event - seeing those types of outcomes are what makes volunteering so rewarding.
.
.
➡️Who inspires you?
As cliche as it might be, my friends inspire me the most. I’m honored to be surrounded by a group of powerful women and men, who use their voice and talents to benefit others, and who consistently push themselves to be the best. Being affiliated with people like that only makes you a better person. My friends inspire me, and I admire them immensely.
.
.
➡️What’s one thing - either industry-related or not - you learned in the last month?
I learned a lot volunteering on a local state assembly campaign. Everything from grassroots engagement to messaging to new ways to reach different audiences. It was such a great experience; one I hope to have sometime again!
.
.
➡️What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know?
I’m from Illinois, so I consider myself a recovering Bear fan. Go Pack Go!
.
.
➡️Favorite Sheboygan Location/place/event?
I love a Saturday morning spent getting breakfast and coffee at @paradigmcoffeeandmusic , followed by shopping and browsing through the Farmers Market at Fountain Park, topped with a stroll alongside Lake Michigan.
