The Big Rivers Government Centre will shine bright in pink tonight to raise awareness for breast cancer. Each year, over 21,000 people in Australia, including around 200 men, are diagnosed with breast cancer. That means someoneโ€™s mother, sister, friend, or family member is affected. The National Breast Cancer Foundation relies on the generous donations of the Australian community to fund leading breast cancer research. With these funds, they invest in world-class research focused on prevention, detection, new and improved treatments, and enhancing the quality of life, all aimed at ultimately stopping deaths from breast cancer. The Big Rivers Government Centre will illuminate in a vibrant purple tonight to raise awareness about Meningitis and support the CoMO (Confederation of Meningitis Organisations) Global Road Map, aiming to defeat Meningitis by 2030. Meningitis is a serious infection that can impact anyone, regardless of age or location. Each year, on World Meningitis Day, we unite to promote awareness and foster global action against this disease. With over 2.5 million cases reported worldwide annually, meningitis claims the lives of 1 in 10 affected individuals, and heartbreakingly, nearly half of all meningitis fatalities occur in children under the age of five. Furthermore, 1 in 5 survivors may endure lifelong disabilities, including hearing loss, brain damage, limb loss, and epilepsy. To learn more about Meningitis and the experiences of those affected, please visit the link below: .au/ #DefeatMeningitis #WorldMeningitisDay #MeningitisCentreAustralia #KnowActVax Meningitis Centre Australia
