My father came to New York City from Ondo State, Nigeria, in the late 1980s. I’ve always thought about what he must have imagined when he first saw this city and everything it seemed to promise.
I wanted these images to reflect that feeling the ambition, the hunger, and the scale of dreams that rise as high as Manhattan’s skyline. That spirit is what defines New York City.
