"There is no equality as long as those who provide childcare struggle to pay rent and feed their families." Child care work makes all work possible, and New York must invest in the providers and families holding our communities together!

They say that it is the task of the revolutionary artist to make the ideas of the revolution irresistible. Earlier yesterday in NYC, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee @tommorello of @rageagainstthemachine stood in solidarity with @handsoffnyc , our comrades at @actionlabny , and affiliates @maketheroadny and @cuffh to demand an end to ICE abuses at the Immigration Detention Center. Just one night after packing out Madison Square Garden alongside Bruce Springsteen, Morello showed up for the people once again using his platform to speak out against fascism and stand on the right side of history.

“This Land Is Your Land is a song that I learned in the third grade, but didn’t realize what an important, radical, American immigrant anthem it was, because they censored out the verses that would indicate such. I’m going to reinstate those censored verses for you today, ‘cause Woody Guthrie knew that this land was not made for the oligarchs and the billionaires. This land was made for you and me.” @tommorello from @rageagainstthemachine at rally outside of 26 Federal Plaza where immigrants are still being unlawfully and inhumanely detained by ICE.

Today is Imagine A Day Without Child Care. Providers, parents, and legislators gathered at City Hall Park to demand a child care system that works for all New Yorkers. Child care providers deserve a living wage. Families deserve access to affordable care without endless waitlists. Our communities deserve real investment in the people who make all work possible.

Thank you for organizing and creating! When we stand together, our voices are louder. We are creating a new narrative. What began last fall as a spark continues to grow into a national movement of artists and cultural institutions refusing to be silenced. Every new city, venue, classroom, gallery, stage, and public square strengthens what we are building together. To everyone who made May Day a celebration of solidarity, thank you. Now let’s continue reaching out and inspiring even more artists and institutions to stand up to fascism. Let’s continue to organize, create, and make visible the communities and voices under attack. Let’s bring more art into public life and build solidarity where we are. The next national activation: October 2–3. Registration opens soon. Stay tuned. #FallOfFreedom #ArtMatters #ArtAndResistance #Solidarity
