The final chapter of the Deep Listening Series at Offsite unfolds with Thinking as a Mountain by Yuxin Mei (Temple Rat) & Nuño de la Serna. Inspired by Aldo Leopold's call to "think like a mountain," the installation traces fragile entanglements between humans, nature, and perception-woven from field recordings, subtle composition, and a suspended kinetic sculpture made from reclaimed materials. This session invites us to listen with patience and attention, sensing the mountain not as static, but as alive, breathing, interconnected.

“Flower Boy” is a captivating sculpture that encapsulates the pure joy and tranquility of immersing oneself in nature and engaging in physical activity.
The artwork is a lifelike depiction of a young boy with a resplendent flower as head. The sculpture captures a moment frozen in time, as the boy reclines on his back, arching his body, and reveling in the soothing ambiance of the park
I created "Flower Boy" during the art residency at @ny20plus_artcenter NY20+ after participating at the 2023 CHENGDU INTERNATIONAL SISTER CITIES SCULPTURE CREATION PROGRAM together with other 15 incredible international artist from all over the world.
I just came back from China where I was visiting my sculpture 'Flower Boy' being exhibited at the Chengdu Expo 2024.
The sculpture was designed during the 2023 CHENGDU INTERNATIONAL SISTER CITIES SCULPTURE CREATION PROGRAM and produced by the International Horticultural Exhibition Park Expo.
The invitation to participate in the program was thanks to the @ny20plus_artcenter gallery.
During this 2 months residency, I have been researching sustainable alternative ways of art production and focusing on plastic injection for recycled plastic.
