I read this whole poem again, and I didn't see any disclaimer that said "as long as they don't come with problems."
I love this country.! My ancestors were immigrants, as almost all of ours were. I believe in law and I believe in hard work. I also believe that where much is given, much is required, and in this country, we have been given more than most.
It's not always easy to help those in need. Sometimes it can be complicated and messy. But I believe it is part of the fabric and identity of what this nation is, and who we are.
it's easy for our ideals to get lost in the emotions that often come with political discourse, but I pray that we can all remember who we are and what we stand for.
