Now that our timber wall studs are in place here at our Earlsfield site, it’s time for plasterboard.
We’re using three layers of 15mm SoundBloc plasterboard, carefully fixed to each stud, to hit our high sound insulation targets. Remember, each room is fully independent—no walls touch—so the studios stay isolated from one another.

These are the isolated floors for our new studios at our Earlsfield site.
We’ve set out the isolators beneath each floor using detailed load calculations, ensuring they support every bit of weight we’re putting on top.
By combining timber and concrete, we achieve the mass needed to isolate down to around 10Hz.
And because each room sits on its own independent floor, we can hit the high sound insulation targets we’re aiming for.

A turnkey design and build project by @acoustic_structures@9m_studios opened its doors in 2021 and is located on the ground floor of an eccentric residential property between Elephant & Castle and Kennington. Natural light and a personal touch make this residential studio the perfect place to feel comfortable and creative, while also providing state of the art rooms and acoustics to its clients.
Three control rooms surround an impressive multi-purpose Live Room which can be used for: tracking, producing, rehearsing, song writing, voiceovers, music videos, filmed live sessions, promotional videos and many other possibilities.
The acoustic conditions are industry standard for recording, monitoring and the mixing of audio. There is high performance sound insulation between all sensitive spaces as well as Audio/data connectivity between key spaces to allow for unrestricted future use of the facility.

We helped @noatunestudios with the room acoustics on this one. It's optimised to be a comfortable space for artists to collaborate. The main studio works for mixing and recording with an isolated booth at the rear.
We're really pleased to see the studio packed with sessions since it's opened.
