It’s only taken 8 months, but finally we have a room that’s fully completed. I think…maybe… We thought the wall with the radiator was just too plain and needed a bit of life. We toyed with the idea of painting it a different colour but settled on putting a shelf up and decorating it with holiday inspired trinkets. I think it turned out beautifully, and as time goes on we can always swap out the pieces with items we pick up on our travels. When choosing our kitchen I was more or less given free rein. The only stipulation was that it needed to have an island (not pictured today). I have been inspired over the years by many a magazine, showhome, kitchen showroom, and in recent times by @acorn_barn_conversion kitchen which I love 🤍 I knew what I wanted it to look like for months! Then June 2025 when I could finally go through the options of door styles and colours etc, it was so exciting. The guys @acorn_developments were so good (and patient) in helping finalising colour and door styles and bringing the vision to life. It turned out so much more beautiful than I ever imagined. Even a new build can do with a little upgrade 🤩 Putting the same architrave around the window to match the doors was the perfect way to add some definition to an otherwise flat wall. Can’t wait to the New Year to get a Roman blind installed to finish the look. Adding the optional sunroom onto our new build was a question that probably didn’t need asking. From the extra room it would give us and the amazing floor to celling window it had us excited from the start, how lovely and bright this space would be. To maximise on the light we opted to have a sky lantern installed. The developers @acorn_developments were great in advising on size and placement, and we were so happy they were on board with our vision. It turned out so much better than we expected. Originally planned that this would be a semi-formal dining room and a place to relax with a book (or your phone lol) and no TV, just that lovey view of the garden. Now that we are in, plans are slowly changing. We love the thought of living in this space full time. Potentially this will become our living room, so we can enjoy the light as well as the view into the garden. Can’t wait to see how we can transform this blank canvas into something we will enjoy for years to come.
