In the world of construction, where pressure runs high and setbacks are inevitable, Architect Richmond Aquino of Acodes Architectural Services knows exactly what it takes to endure. âThis is a field that demands both grit and guts,â he shares. But beyond technical skills and deadlines, Richmond emphasizes that a business rooted in good principles will always stand tall. âOur capital isnât just financialâitâs our values. We avoid stepping on others to succeed.â
For Richmond, client trust is sacred. âNever waste the trust given to you,â he advises, pointing out that every successful project is a product not just of design but of character. His message to aspiring professionals is clear: resilience will carry you through the hard days, but integrity is what sustains the long game.

Architect Anjo from ACODES shares one underrated feature that helps keep this Pampanga home less hot and more comfortable â the solar air ventilator by Solar Attic Fan Philippines.
âď¸ Runs on solar by day
⥠Connects to power at night
đĄ Helps reduce heat, humidity, and molds, preventing ceiling damage over time
For a country as hot and humid as ours, maybe itâs time to normalize air ventilators.

Hereâs the full walkthrough of the PR House in Pampanga, a modern, Muji-inspired home we designed for @glocogaming and the @peenoiserealm team.
This house used to feel tight and lacked proper airflow, so hereâs what we changed:
âď¸ Opened up the layout para mas maluwag at mas maganda ang flow
âď¸ Added more natural light + proper cross-ventilation
âď¸ Upgraded the panel board for safer + updated electrical load
âď¸ Maximized storage in almost every corner
âď¸ Improved the staircase (mas sturdy, mas wide, mas safe)
âď¸ Added a Genkan entry area â one of the clientâs requests
âď¸ Kept the kitchen location but added a window + a nook
âď¸ Installed a smart toilet and refreshed the bathroom layout
âď¸ Created a full editorsâ room with space for multiple PC setups
Our goal was simple: make the home feel cleaner, brighter, and more comfortable to live and work in.
Walk with us through the finished space. đ¤

Na-curious din ba kayo sa solar ventilator after our last video? đ
Since a lot of people asked about it, hereâs Ar. Anjo with Sir Rana of Solar Attic Fan Philippines to explain what it actually does and how it helps your home.
To clarify: ACODES is an architectural firm, and we donât supply the ventilators ourselves. But we work with trusted partners who can help assess, recommend, and install the right unit depending on your homeâs needs.
In simple terms, a solar ventilator helps extract trapped heat inside your roof space. This can help make your home feel less hot and allow your air-conditioning system to cool the space more efficiently.
And no, hindi ibig sabihin na hindi mo na kailangan ng aircon. It simply helps reduce the trapped heat so your cooling system doesnât have to work as hard.
For inquiries and proper assessment, you may connect with Solar Attic Fan Philippines and look for Sir Rana for an ocular inspection.

Sometimes good design isnât about adding more.
Sometimes itâs about knowing what to remove, what to simplify, and what truly matters.

Usually, bago pa natin matikman yung food, yung space muna ang unang napapansin natin.
For Palm Grillâs NAIA Terminal 3 branch, ACODES brought the same colorful, warm, and proudly Southern Mindanaoan identity of Palm Grill into a fast-paced airport setting.
Led by Chef Miggy, Palm Grill is a Michelin Bib Gourmandârecognized restaurant, and the first Mindanaoan restaurant to receive this recognition. A big step forward for a region thatâs often overlooked in the local culinary scene.
Thatâs why this project felt extra meaningful. More than just serving food, Palm Grill is sharing a culture, a story, and an experience.
Since nasa food court siya, hindi lang siya basta âpagandahin.â Every detail had to consider the flow of people, the comfort of customers, and how the staff can move and work efficiently. But at the same time, kailangan pa rin maramdaman yung identity ng brand through the space.
As Ar. Anjo shares in this walkthrough, design plays a big role in how people first connect with a place. Minsan, visuals talaga yung unang hook bago pa dumating yung service and food.
So if youâre passing by NAIA Terminal 3, donât miss the chance to visit Palm Grill: Authentic Cuisine from South of Mindanao on Facebook / @palmgrillph on Instagram, and experience Southern Mindanaoan cuisine for yourself.
And yes, highly recommended daw ang halo-halo. đ

To the moms who make every space feel warmer, safer, and more like home, this day is for you.
Thank you for being the steady presence, the quiet comfort, and the love we always come back to.
Happy Motherâs Day from ACODES. đ¤
Deeper into the home, everything becomes quieter.
The private spaces are made for real restâwhere the pace slows down, the noise fades, and you can finally just be. No distractions, no excessâjust a sense of ease the moment you step in.
These are the spaces you donât rush through. You stay a little longer, sleep a little deeper, and wake up feeling lighter.
Soft, warm, and unhurriedâexactly how rest should feel.

A quick walkthrough of CONEX 2026 with Ar. Anjo. đˇââď¸
Held alongside the National Convention of Architects last April 16â18, CONEX brings together different brands, suppliers, materials, and technologies in the construction and design industry.
For ACODES, visits like this are also part of how we stay updated. Hindi lang para makita kung ano ang bago, but to explore materials and solutions that we can potentially apply to future projects.
Because good design also means staying curious, learning continuously, and knowing whatâs possible beyond the usual.

One thing to consider when buying fixtures or appliances for your home: try to see and experience them in person.
Sometimes we focus too much on measurements or specs. But âsaktoâ doesnât only mean the size fits the space.
It can also mean asking:
Is it practical for your daily routine?
Does it match how you actually use the space?
Is it aligned with your lifestyle?
For example, not everyone needs a large kitchen sink. For some households, a smaller one works perfectly, depending on how they cook, clean, and use the kitchen.
Seeing it in person helps you imagine how it will actually work in your homeâbeyond just the dimensions on paper.

Init na init na ba kayo sa bahay? đ
Hereâs a quick video from Ar. Anjo sharing 5 simple considerations we apply when designing homes to help keep them cooler, especially with the kind of heat weâve been experiencing lately.
From proper airflow and landscaping, to even small details like paint color and shading, malaking bagay talaga sila long-term.
Hindi siya laging agad napapansin, pero these are the kinds of details that really make a difference in how comfortable a space feels.
Hindi lang kasi basta ganda ang iniisip sa designâkasama rin dapat yung comfort, function, and kung paano mas magiging maayos tumira sa space araw-araw.
Sa inyo, ano yung pinaka-effective na way para mas mapresko ang bahay?
