We’ve known @ackermon since the release of his album And Friends back in 2018. Even while living in LA, he kept coming back to the Netherlands for shows and promo, building something real along the way. Touring with Judy Blank, connecting with our friend @gildor_music (who later visited him in LA), and always staying true to the people around him.
Over the years, we’ve been lucky to be involved in his latest EPs; and now, full circle, he’s made the move to Amsterdam. working towards an album to be released via @polymoon.music
Having Gregory at @studiomoonmusic , recording some incredible songs, just feels like a natural step in his journey. We couldn’t be more excited to host this moment. Recording by @ingojetten90 video @dorontempert
Newly written tune, "I Hope I Don't Look Silly When I Die", from my window perch in Amsterdam

A grooving, expansive timelessness captivates on “Call Me Crazy,” a track from Gregory Ackerman that he describes as a “Bill Withers/Funkadelic-style jam.” Initial, understated acoustic strums are quickly joined by a vibrant, expressive array of instrumentation. Tender electric guitars, mellow bass, and head-nodding percussion appear first, crafting a smoky and hypnotic allure to start.
Thereafter, warming brass tones weave in seamlessly amidst the debonair guitar work and intoxicating rhythms. A chilled-out introspection takes hold in that aspect of instrumentation, while the flourishes of airy woodwinds further the free-flowing, beautiful spontaneity; the track started as a loose garage jam, and later evolved into an improvisatory studio success — and the free-flowing embrace is delectably showcased with the interplaying instrumentation and evident musicianship. The vocals are another standout element, maintaining a gleeful soulfulness via gorgeous, suave harmonies.
The fantastic “Call Me Crazy” comes via Ackerman’s upcoming album Challenger Deep. The album was produced and engineered by Dillon Casey, and features Keenan McDaniel on drums and Casey on guitar.
