Posted as a story and was confusing. It was about the original post I was sharing. Washington post refuses to run this ad. They gave no reasons. Obviously a favor Bezos as owner is doing for Trump. Proof we have lost @washingtonpost as a respectable trustworthy paper

Great installation on @metmuseum terrace by American artist Lauren Halsey. It is a site-specific installation of a full-scale architectural structure imbued with the collective energy and imagination of the South Central Los Angeles Community where she was born and continues to work. Titled the eastside of south central los angeles hieroglyph prototype architecture with connections to sources as varied as ancient Egyptian symbolism, 1960s utopian architecture, and contemporary visual expressions like tagging that reflect the ways in which people aspire to make public places their own. Especially beautiful on a perfect #newyork day. #artinstallation #met #losangeles #art

On May 30, 1868, the first official Decoration Day (now #memorialday 🇺🇸) ceremony was held at #arlingtonnationalcemetery. Future president James A. Garfield, who’d served as a Union major general during the Civil War, gave the opening address: “I’m oppressed with a sense of the impropriety of uttering words on this occasion. If silence is ever golden, it must be here, beside the graves of 15,000 men, whose lives were more significant than speech … The voices of these dead will forever fill the land like holy benedictions. What other spot so fitting for their last resting place as this under the shadow of the Capitol saved by their valor? Here, where the grim edge of battle joined; here, where all the hope and fear and agony of their country centered; here let them rest, asleep on the Nation’s heart, entombed in the Nation’s love … Hither our children’s children shall come to pay their tribute of grateful homage. For this are we met today. By the suggestion of a great society, assemblies like this are gathering in every State in the Union. Thousands of soldiers are today turning aside in the march of life to visit the silent encampments of dead comrades who once fought by their side. From many thousand homes, there go forth today to join these solemn processions loving kindred and friends, from whose heart the shadow of grief will never be lifted till the light of the eternal world dawns upon them. And here are children to whom the war left no father but the Father above. By the most sacred right, theirs is the chief place today. They come with garlands to crown their victor fathers. I will delay the coronation no longer.” 📸 The Soldier’s Memorial by Currier & Ives (1863): ‘In Memory of a Brave and Gallant Soldier, and a True Patriot—His toils are past, his work is done; and he is fully blest. He fought the fight, the victory won, and enters into rest’ . #memorialdayweekend #honorthefallen #memorialday🇺🇸 Posted @withregram • gothamsgildedage

Infuriating! Now we can only be proud of our community and part of corporate pride only if we fit within some “acceptable” parameters. Those definitions are sure to change and become more oppressive if we don’t push back at every attempt by these small intolerant groups. Boycotts are the easiest form of protest. Don’t be blinded by a rainbow flag artfully incorporated into a logo. What do these companies/organizations do the rest of the year? The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are an amazing organization that has supported the community for decades and at times when most needed and ostracized. They deserve to be accepted and supported. @sfsisters #thesistersofperpetualindulgence #tolerance #lgbt #gaypride #lgbtqrights #gayrights #losangeles Posted @withregram@mattxiv @dodgers take a stand you big baby

RePosted @withregram@frankbeverett So sad to say goodbye to our little Leo, we loved him so much and will miss him always. Leo was with us for more than 16 years. He was never easy but always entertaining. Leo ran the show, lived his best life and was the master of his own universe. To friends and family who visited our home, special thanks for putting up with his bossy barking and ankle nipping. He meant it all with love. This is my favorite picture of Leo, who was always at his happiest in Alex’s arms.
