A publication about around 30 years of work of les gens d’uterpan. Very straight concepts are explained and activated by these choreographers and artists. But also very complex to simplify and making accessible in form of a book.

Six contemporary artists dig into the archives of the art collection of the culture branch of the german state department (ifa) and react to their findings. Result: several exhibitions in Berlin and Stuttgart at @ifagalleryberlin . I made the communication (posters) and finally this large publication.
As I often find art publications like a product pointing at the past - showing what was made - I tried, also inspired by the concept of the exhibitions, to find a form that transports the concept to pointing at the present (or even the future).
My conclusion was to use the idea of a magazine:
Working excessively with column titles and large photography by @victoriatomaschko .

Artists are Isaac Chong Wai, Lizza May David, Wilhelm Klotzek, Ofri Lapid, Adrien Missika, and Gitte Villesen.

Continuing the work I made with Miriam Cahn: a publication on occasion of her solo show at Stedelijk, Amsterdam and maat, Lisbon.
