They’re starting to pack on that post-spawn heft and bending 5wts to the cork.
The big river just clicked up to 7k - there are still plenty of fish spawning up in town in the closed zone but a lot of fish are in post spawn feed mode. No single bug is taking the reins right now, a lot of food varieties in the mix: Sallies, salmon flies, goldens, Caddis, PMDs and Baetis have all been relevant. Warmer days in the forecast will kick these hatches into overdrive and those much anticipated Caddis hatches should get even stronger.
