It’s an exciting week in Philadelphia, where the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) is holding its biannual conference and the National Council of Acoustical Consultants (NCAC) gathered to mark its 64th anniversary – founded here in Philly – and to honor one of Acentech’s own. We’re especially proud to celebrate former Acentech president Carl Rosenberg, FASA, who received the Paul Boner Award for outstanding contributions to the science of acoustics. Carl’s remarkable career as a teacher, scientist, administrator, and leader reflects the very highest standards of the profession. Acentech president Ben Markham, FASA, was honored to celebrate Carl at the NCAC awards ceremony. At the ASA meeting, several Acentech experts also shared their work with the acoustical community: “Quantifying Trade-Offs Between Acoustic Absorption and Embodied Carbon in Interior Treatments,” written by Milena Jonas Bem and Kristen Murphy, and presented by Kristen Murphy “Well!
