Last month, I had the opportunity to showcase the work I did in collaboration with @scrambledeggsxyz , an artist collective that I have looked up to for years, to create 'En Mi Cuarto'.
EMC is an exhibition dedicated to the beauty of creating within your living space- highlighting the intimacy, labor, and resilience that comes along with it. Not only did it garner so much creative fulfillment within me, but it allowed me to recognize the home in which Las Vegas local artists build within the community together. Creating for, and working with my dear friend Manny, was a privilege and dream come true.
This project became deeply personal to me, both in the gallery design and in my own piece for the show, 'ATROPHY'. This piece served as a way to honor my childhood home through the most transitory period of my life thus far.
Thank you to Manny and everyone at Scrambled Eggs for bringing me into this project. Thank you to Darren, Bee, and The Clark County Library District for welcoming our ideas with open arms. Thank you to Curtis, Davey, and Hector for helping me physically create the space. Thank you to all 14 artists curated into the show, for your incredible work and beautiful souls. Thank you to everyone who both came to the reception and viewed EMC while it was on display. Thank you to my parents for all of the support and encouragement to do the things that fulfill me the most.
I have so much gratitude for everyone involved. All the love <3
