Congratulations to Anthony Albanese on being elected Australia’s 31st Prime Minister and to the Australian Labor Government on the election result.
We look forward to continuing to work with Labor on the recovery of our sector as well as ensuring the wider Parliament understands and supports measures to drive the recovery of Australia’s struggling hospitality and accommodation sectors.
Labor’s election commitments included a $48 million Tourism and Travel package. Most excitingly this includes a $10 million investment to expand “Accommodation Association’s The Hub”, our hospitality training and upskilling portal to support workforce recovery. .au/thehub
We need to attract, educate and re-train 100,000 staff into hospitality after more than 40 per cent of our workforce was lost nationally during COVID.
