Earlier today, we were joined by community partners, families, and supporters to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Youth ACT in Ulster County.
This new program expands access to intensive, community-based mental health support for children and young adults ages 10–21, helping young people stay connected to their homes, schools, families, and communities while receiving the care they need.
Youth ACT represents an important step forward in strengthening mental health support for youth and families across Ulster County, and today’s ribbon cutting marked the beginning of this new chapter.
Thanks to our partners at the New York State Office of Mental Health and Ulster County Commissioner of Mental Health, Tara McDonald and Deputy Commissioner Katrina Williams for their support.

This National Nurses Week, we’re celebrating the nurses across The Access: Network whose care and connection make a difference every day.
For Gina Davis and Kaitlyn Soto, some of the most meaningful parts of the work are the relationships built along the way—and the feeling of making a difference in someone’s life.
“We love coming into our houses. They’re warm, they’re friendly, and we’re always greeted with a smile. And we love making a difference in our individuals’ lives.”
This week’s Mindset Monday is a guided moment to slow down, reconnect with your body, and use your breath as a way to release tension and relax.
We’ll move through the body in a mindful way, creating space to pause and reset in the middle of the day.
There’s nothing you need to do perfectly. Just begin where you are.
Less than a month to go.
Our special guest, Peter Jacobsen, will be joining us at the Access: Charity Pro-Am on June 1 at West Hills Country Club for a golf clinic, stories from the course, and a great day supporting programs that strengthen lives across our communities.
Come on out!
The best leaders don’t just manage people—they help them grow.
At The Access: Network, this work means supporting both the people we serve and the teams alongside them every day.
We’re hiring in Middletown and New Windsor—looking for people who can lead with compassion, build strong teams, and help create meaningful opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
This work is hands-on, people-centered, and rooted in helping others live fuller, more independent lives.
The impact shows up in everyday progress, trust, and connection.

Across New York State, providers and Direct Support Professionals work tirelessly every day to ensure people with I/DD receive the care and support they depend on. But without sustained investment, that system remains strained.
A full 4% TII is necessary to help providers manage rising costs, support the workforce, and maintain essential services.

New Yorkers with I/DD deserve access to stable, high-quality services, and the workforce that supports them deserves the resources needed to sustain their work.
As we enter the final stages of New York budget decisions, lawmakers have a crucial opportunity to strengthen the care system and build on the progress made from investments over the past few years.
A full 4% TII would help providers address rising costs, retain staff, and deliver uninterrupted services and care across New York State.

This National Nurses Week, we’re celebrating the nurses across The Access: Network whose care, advocacy, and connection make a difference every day.
For Brenda Mongelli, RN, one of the most meaningful parts of nursing has been the relationships built along the way—with both the people we support and their families.
“Once I started my nursing career, the part of the job that I enjoyed most was building patient relationships.
Being a residential group home nurse has provided me with a great opportunity to create and nurture patient relations not only with the individuals we serve but their families as well. This has provided me with the opportunity to advocate and provide the best possible care, and brings me such joy.”
This National Nurses Week, we’re celebrating the nurses across The Access: Network whose care, creativity, and commitment shape the lives of the people we support every day.
For Meghan Albert, nursing became something bigger than she ever expected.
“I am here because I see the difference I make every day. I am given the freedom to be creative, to think outside the box, and to provide care to individuals who are too often overlooked or unfairly treated.
I am supported by a team that encourages innovation rather than limiting it. Together, we care for our clients in ways that not only strengthen their mental and physical health, but also rebuild their trust in healthcare providers.
Quite simply, I am here because I love our clients, I value my colleagues, and I believe deeply in the work we do.”
Staff from our Healthy Families program wore blue in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month and spent some time together creating “canvases of hope”—small paintings with simple messages of encouragement, strength, and care.
The canvases will be placed in Little Free Libraries across the county, adding a small moment of connection to everyday places.
That same sense of care is at the heart of Healthy Families—starting with support during pregnancy and continuing alongside families through the early years, offering connection, encouragement, and guidance.
