These five cities are putting in the work to make sure the infrastructure actually makes sense. From transit apps that talk to you to tactile paths that don't just end in the middle of nowhere, here are a few spots where the design is actually hitting the mark for visually impaired travellers!📍

What if some of the hardest parts of travel are not the big things, but the small everyday ones like using products in a place you do not know well?
In a hotel bathroom or a shared space, it is easy to lose confidence when labels are small, unfamiliar, or not readable for everyone, especially for blind or visually impaired travellers.
That is why Sumaira Latif at Procter & Gamble is working on inclusive design that helps people identify products through touch and simple systems like tactile symbols.
Paired with tools like NaviLens, it means more independence in everyday routines, even when you are far from home.
It is a reminder that accessibility is not only about big infrastructure. It is also about the small things that make daily life and travel easier for everyone.

There is a big difference between a city being "accessible" on paper and actually feeling like you belong there.
We recently shared a piece by travel professional Matty Medeiros, @nomapsneededtravel that dives into how destinations like Tokyo, Reykjavik, and Barcelona are leaning into real inclusion. Matty shares some great insights on planning for your energy levels and navigating the world without having to hide your needs just to fit in.
If you are starting to think about your next trip, Matty’s tips on finding community and accessible routes are definitely worth a read. Check it out at the link in our bio.

There’s a version of travel content we all know by now. Beautiful places, easy movement, everything looking effortless. But there are so many of us who are left out of travel content entirely.
We would love to see more representation in the travel community. Not as something separate, and not as a rare feature, but as part of what travel already is. It was never only meant for one kind of body, one kind of movement, one kind of experience.
