As a curator, one question I keep asking is: how do we design exhibitions that make students genuinely curious?
Not just curious enough to take a photo, but curious enough to ask questions.
Who made this?
Why was it preserved?
What does it tell us about the people who came before us?
I’ve learned that students connect most deeply when an exhibition is built around a story.
In The Collector’s Game, we are presenting the private collection of Coach Oliver Berdeen Johnson — a pioneer of Nigerian basketball and Chairman of Basketball for Peace. Over decades, he quietly collected original Ladi Kwali pottery, Benin bronzes, and other cultural objects.
That unexpected connection between basketball, art, and history is what makes young people pay attention.
A museum becomes far more interesting when students realize they are not simply looking at objects. They are stepping into someone’s life, choices, and legacy.
This is why I believe museums are some of the most powerful classrooms we have.
When students encounter real objects, interactive activities, and stories that connect to what they already know, history stops being something to memorize and becomes something to experience.
And that is where true learning begins.

Tired. But. Still. Trying.
I shot this in just 10 minutes… no clear concept, no perfect plan.
Just a quiet decision to stop running from my camera… and start creating again.
This is 20 seconds of what exam week feels like… when even reading becomes heavy on the mind.
Exam weeks are one of the hardest and most exhausting times for students.
Behind every tired face is a mind that hasn’t stopped fighting.
I wish everyone a calm heart… a steady mind… and the strength to keep going.
