Creative photography isn’t just about taking great pictures, it’s about creating art. Having been in the production space for a while, @abumburu shares his tips on how to achieve a creative image from the pre-production stage to editing.
In the pre-production stage, he creates detailed storyboards which enable him to visualise each shot and he chooses locations that enhance the story he is looking to tell.
Then, during production he uses dynamic camera movements such as gimbal and tracking shots to add energy. In addition to that, he plays with shadows and highlights in order to add texture and dimension to the scenes.
In the last stage, he edits the images using color grading which helps set the tone and atmosphere of the image. Finally, he reviews and refines his edits to ensure a smooth and engaging flow.
