DAPITAN, the official literary folio of The Flame, is now calling for submissions.
The Flame, alongside its role in delivering independent and fearless journalism reportage, honors the artistic and creative prowess of the Artlets community by inviting them to submit their works for Dapitan.
Dapitan compiles selected contributions made by the Artlets community. Throughout the years since the faculty’s existence, it has maintained the burning passion to keep the art and literature of its literary predecessors alive.
This is open to all students, alumni and professors of the UST Faculty of Arts and Letters.
This year’s Dapitan interrogates Desire not merely as longing of the heart, but as a force that permeates systems, structures and everyday life.
Desire is framed as the continuous flow of penetration through institutions, language, memory and resistance. Beyond romance and emotions, it is embedded in how societies function, how identities are shaped and how individuals move within structures that both constrain and propel them.
The theme is inspired by the mechanisms of power articulated in Anti-Oedipus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia by Félix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze.
In this folio, Desire reveals its many facets: personal and political, intimate and systemic, tender and violent. It manifests in yearning and excess, in absence and obsession, in survival and revolt, in the abject and the sublime.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
1. Submit a screenshot or photo of your registration form or alumni card.
2. Provide a creative self-description (maximum of 250 words, written in the third person point of view).

THE GOLDEN FINALE💛
FOR MONTHS, the athletes battled in courts, fields, tracks, and arenas driven by ambition, discipline, and school pride.
They competed for medals, championships, and legacy.
But as the lights dim on #UAAPSeason88, the athletes who defined this year’s triumphs and heartbreaks were given something different: a standing ovation not just for what they won, but for everything they endured to get there.
In an unprecedented move, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines closing ceremony stepped away from the conventional format of medal tables and formal acknowledgments. Instead, under the direction of host University of Santo Tomas, the season finale was reimagined as an Oscar-inspired show—a red-carpet celebration designed to honor athletes not merely as competitors, but as stars.
