So happy to add one of Andre B. Carter’s tiny paintings to my collection. I’ve been a fan of @abstractabc for some time. Intrigued and impressed first by her large mixed media paintings. Saw a couple of her sweet tiny paintings during the Last Friday Open Studios @theperezartdistrict and obssessed about this one. Lucky to catch her back in the desert following her show opening in Key West. And delighted the painting was still available. This solo exhibition consists of 7 paintings from my Roots of a City series. The paintings blend needlepoint, recycled fabric, paint, and collage to capture the mood and identity of each city. They are installed like tapestries and invite the viewer to explore color, texture, and architectural details while mapping their own connection to place.

Wonderful day in Naples Italy! Opening reception of group show Weaving & Connecting curated by @cynthiapenna and Gabriella Esposito at the Museum of Fashion and Textiles. I met the US Counsel General too which was cool that he toured our exhibition with his wife.

This is a painting I made in honor of the city of Napoli. I finally finished it and it will travel to Key West. My solo exhibition, Roots of a City will be in May 2026.
