🎈 Cleveland IB Middle School students didn't just study science—they launched it!
With help from Sandia National Labs volunteers, students built and launched a solar weather balloon made of painter's wrap, collected real wind data, and put their knowledge of thermodynamics to the test.

Grief is something no child should face alone. 💙
Every APS school received a free grief kit, made possible by the Rotary Club of Albuquerque and the Grief Center. Counselors now have age-appropriate books, activities and resources to help students understand their emotions, build coping skills and find support within their school community.

🦅 Soaring to new heights at Rio Grande High!
Rio Grande officially exited school improvement status after posting a 74.1% graduation rate for the Class of 2025, a 12.1 point jump in just three years.
Staff volunteered as mentors. Teachers showed up for students. And a whole school came together under one belief: every Raven belongs at that finish line.

📚🚲 Helen Cordero Elementary students had a lot to celebrate!
The school recently recognized students who showed reading growth throughout the year, highlighting their hard work and progress in literacy. Thanks to support from the NMPED Structured Literacy Initiative, six students also received brand-new bikes as part of the celebration.

💻🏆 APS students are turning coding and research into real-world impact!
After a year of studying the factors that contribute to teen homelessness, Fighting Shadows Supercomputing Team members Jazmine Aquino and Nadia Montano earned multiple awards at the Supercomputing Challenge Expo in Los Alamos, including honors for coding, community impact and perseverance.
Jazmine also earned a scholarship for her next steps at CNM and was invited back next year as a judge, while Nadia plans to continue her research and coding work next year.
Congratulations to these students for using technology to tackle important issues and make a difference!

⚽ More than 1,100 APS middle school students took the field this season, showing grit, teamwork and school pride through the APS Middle School Soccer program.
From hard-fought championship matches to freezing temperatures on the sidelines, students, coaches, families and staff came together to make this season unforgettable.

Twelfth-grader at Manzano High School
Meet Krystal, a thoughtful and inspiring student whose curiosity and kindness leave a lasting impact on those around her. One of her teachers, Laura Llanes, calls her one of the most amazing human beings she has had the privilege to teach, praising her kindness and willingness to help classmates who are struggling. 💙
Krystal says she enjoys learning and being part of the Manzano High School community. 📚✨
Outside the classroom, Krystal stays involved playing volleyball and participating in Peer Helpers, National Honor Society and AP Ambassadors. She also enjoys reading, photography, vlogging and ceramics. 📷🏐
After graduation, Krystal plans to continue her education in college and major in architecture.
