Last night I had to say goodbye to the love of my life, my Samson. I don’t know what I’ll do without you. Thank you for everything, my silly being. I love you. I miss you.
Our one little hitchhiking trillium announced its return today, on the third anniversary of Samson’s passing. You would have liked this yard, Mr Sniz. Maybe you’d even like Buddy, who hangs out back there now. You and he have similar interests.
Nearing Samson’s yahrzeit, I’ve had to sit with some complicated and challenging thoughts around how I could have shown up for him better. But those are for me to work through. Today is for eating a bug and raising an armpit in cheers to everyone’s favorite pal.
I love you, Samson. Miss you. 💕
