The Storms Upon Us are no strangers to turning noise into something dangerously eargasmic ⚡
The Singaporean garage rock duo don’t just play music – they erupt in sound. Their energy crashes through blues, punk, soul and modern metal to deliver a performance that’s raw, real, and with absolutely nothing to lose. A true nod to the age old proverb that good things come in pairs.

To break the rules effectively, one must know them well enough. That’s exactly Mantra’s modus operandi – breaking the rules of conventional prog and turning it into something far more untamed and memorable 🌌✨
Amidst their soundscape of distorted sax, fuzzy keys and wailing guitars, Mantra cleverly shifts between improvisation and chaos to deliver pure expression.

From late-night hangs at the Padang talking about music, our dreams, absolutely cancellable garbage and what wrecks us deep inside, to watching you light up the stage in Japan – so proud of you for putting the pedal to the metal (or rather, the funky blues). Here’s to life’s music, our chapalang friendship, and the journey we’re still witnessing. Now, with two extra angels by our side to share in the love and laughter. Who would’ve thought, eh? Here’s to doing THE THING, one day at a time.

Tears are not enough
To fill the well of your loss
My eyes fail to grieve

Hi darling, it’s been nearly two years since you took the ride to the rainbow bridge. I only wish I could’ve been there in your final moments before you left without a trace. I’ve not been able to cry, write or speak entirely about it because it cuts that deep. Still unsure at times if I’m processing my grief correctly, or at all. Anyone who loves animals and has kept one with them for years would know that they’re not just any pet - they become family. You were the only family I had for some time there too.
It was painful. Especially when, even after your passing, I would wake up in the middle of the night to use the toilet and instinctively walk towards the right side of the kitchen to avoid stepping on your food tray. I would remember you’re no longer here. The muscle memory of your existence in the house kicked me into the first bout of grief.
It was only a few weeks ago when I realised the muscle memory had stopped. Perhaps, my body is slowly understanding life without you.
So, here’s to taking the tiny steps towards acceptance. I’m comforted by all the good memories of when you would sit with me in the room listening to my playlist for hours while I did assignments. Or how you would walk around the house without a care that your humans have made you wear baby shirts to help you from overgrooming yourself. Also, the fact that I know you’re being an absolute badass up there, and probably scamming other animals for food like you did to us when you first came into our lives 12 years ago.
Knowing you has been an absolute blessing and I can’t thank you enough for teaching me so much about myself. When you showed up at my staircase landing all dirty, wet, and terrified; I never expected that you were going to win my heart (and the hearts of everyone close to me whom has met you) and become my whole idea of the purest form of love.
Keep being an absolute punk wherever you are, baby Brie. My love for you extends far beyond my life 🤍
Congratulations on your beautiful union — these two love fitness so much that they held their special day at the Singapore Sports Hub 🥹😂 Here’s wishing you both a lifetime and beyond of love and laughter!
Lollipop on a speed bump, a potato in a drain and freakin’ strawberries mate 🍭🥔🍓
Thank you for sharing your life and heart with me the last 9 years, and for taking such good care of me the last few weeks since my accident. There’s no one else I’d want to watch Slipknot, Trivium and Born of Osiris live with (except maybe Snoop Dogg or Aubrey Plaza - I think they’d make fun concert buddies too but of course you’re the 1st option…if they don’t answer my message) Looking forward to more metal festivals and doing life with you, fella 💗
