Sweet Dotti girl, my gentle giant.
After almost 18 years of being by my side pretty much 24/7, I’m heartbroken to share that I had to say goodbye to this good girl a few weeks ago.
Unknowingly, my life changed when I first met a sweet mama cat and her litter after their short stint in a tree stump. Although we stayed connected to them all, my family ended up keeping the two sister kitties that looked alike - Houdi and Dotti. The runt and the largest.
Since losing little Houdi unexpectedly a few years ago, my life shifted to revolve completely around Dotti. I always used to ask her how she got so nice, and now I realize it’s because of the ridiculous amount of love poured into her since I was 15. Dotti was the MOST talkative and responsive cat I’ve ever met - she’d follow me everywhere and if she didn’t have at least one paw on me, she’d be very close by (usually in a perfectly curated and comfy sun spot).
There are literally thousands of pictures, words, and memories I could share but it still couldn’t accurately summarize how special and important this kitty connection and era was - It’s like Dot was reserved just for me and I was honored to care for her.
Every-color fur, big white feet, a library of sounds, pro bug hunter, sun beam baby, egg-obsessed, beautiful, strong, increasingly curious and brave, freckled gums, black and pink paw pads, tail always up, toy lover, cardboard inspector, perfect model, happiest life. It was just her time to peacefully move on and I will miss her forever.
