Guys!!! Listen to this proposal story. Nisch and Gen had some plans near DTLA, and Nisch told Gen that he wanted to stop by this little art gallery that was in town for just a few days. Gen agreed of course but little did she know that the website for the art gallery, the artist, the artist page, the artist's Instagram, the gallery email address, and tickets were completely fake. Nisch did not miss a single detail, so when they walked into the gallery space (that he rented weeks ago and his planner had spent the past few hours setting up), Gen was stunned to see it full of photos he had taken of her throughout their relationship. He took her for a walk outside the back of the gallery where he had a beautiful floral display and candles set up, and he asked her to marry him. She said yes (duh), and then we spent the rest of the evening getting creative on digital and film and taking some more photos that they can someday add to the walls of their home, as their own little art gallery :,) Truly a couple I'll never forget. Such a special day!!

Film is an investment, and it shows up differently in every photographer’s work. Some don't use it at all, some treat it like an optional add-on, others integrate it into their work alongside digital for a hybrid approach, and a handful of photographers shoot exclusively on film (hmu for this, it's my dream!!!!)
Take the time to understand the differences so you can choose what actually matters to you. There’s no right or wrong way to shoot film. It’s just about finding someone whose approach matches how you want your day to feel :)
