As part of activities to commemorate the International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026, the Shamies Unusual Heart Foundation partnered with Pad-Up Africa to host a special outreach for female inmates at the Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State.
The event which took place on Saturday, the 7th of March 2026 provided an opportunity to impact the female inmates in the area of menstrual hygiene, oral and dental hygiene awareness, mental health sensitization and basic health screening including vital signs checks among others.
Women in correctional facilities often face limited access to hygiene resources and health education. Through this initiative, we restored dignity, promoted wellbeing, and also reminded the female inmates that their lives still carries value and potential.
The outreach also reflected the power of collaboration, as partner organizations contributed expertise in health, hygiene, and wellness services.
We will always welcome partners and supporters who share our vision of restoring dignity and hope to vulnerable women in our society.
We are immensely grateful to all our partners, Executive Directors and Founder Dr Sara Abdul for their continued support towards this noble goal and vision.

STORY TIME 😃😃😃
Went property window-shopping in the UAE with vibes, faith… and an account balance that needed motivation 😌😂 Saw a villa, fell in love with it instantly. I walked through it, took pictures like it already belonged to me, I imagined my life in it and whispered to myself “this will be my home.” At the time, it didn’t make logical sense… but faith rarely does. I told the agent my dreams, like I was paying cash the night day 😁
Everyday, I would look at the picture in the first slide before I went to bed to remind myself that I have a task ahead. Six months later I called the agent and told him I was ready, he told me that exact one was sold, but he had something similar but better 😊 and that was how we closed the deal the next day.
I’m sharing this to remind someone:
If your dreams don’t scare you, they’re probably not big enough. Sometimes your delulu really becomes your solulu.
What you see in faith, you will someday hold in reality.
