Yo @barbicancentre fix up.
I'm out until further notice.
I call on everyone to exercise their leverage too.
Love, light and liberation ☝️

We never needed foreign eyes to recognize self.
We never needed photojournalists to tell our stories.
We never needed to reclaim anything, we never lost it.
Never not once did we ever wake up voiceless.
I don't trust these voices of the voiceless and beauty in destruction journo artist hacks. I don't trust a man that adopts a foreign gaze as an identity and shuns the one he knows.
I don't have time for a man that's a product. I don't trust the one that knows.
I saw beauty only in the eyes of it's holders. But they've convinced you it all comes from them.....the beholder. A culture that's only capable of taking will never pay you your dues. Get it for eachother and together.
Art from us > Art about us

I'm blessed to be able to call many of the people doing great work in this space friends and peers. If you didn't clock, Iraqi music has been in the @guardian newspaper over the past two days thanks to the work of @dalia.aldu and @chrishazboun
It's important for me and all of us in moments like this, particularly within this movement to acknowledge and support eachother. So flowers to every single person who's involved in or mentioned in this. There's so many names. And they're all written in the history books.
I hope you follow, stream, and support all of them. Every single person, event, artist and production named in these articles are significant. And they are doing monumental work that is bigger than one's self. Real legacy shit.
I wish us prosperity and more flowers. 💐💐💐

A short moment from Episode 5 of IRAQ-A-FELLA RADIO on @radioalhara — a 90-minute broadcast of Iraqi football anthems, stitched with stories, anecdotes, dedications and memories of a nation where the game and the song have always moved together.
Iraq returns to the world cup for the first time in over 40 years in 2026. In a moment where it finds itself in the midst of the biggest American Israeli regional aggression in recent history. Carrying forth the dreams and hopes of a people often condemned to reminisce on better days gone.
