Newspaper Club recently launched their new midi print format, making it easier than ever to create magazine-style publications. We collaborated with them to design two new print samples showcasing its potential—one inspired by DIY zines, the other by premium lifestyle magazines.
Their bespoke NC Headline typeface is used for the mastheads and headlines throughout the samples. Thanks to its variable nature, NC Headline flexes effortlessly between wide and condensed widths, as well as light and black weights. This dynamic range allows it to feel right at home in both the playful DIY aesthetic and the refined lifestyle look—while always staying distinctly @newspaperclub .
From F1 and MotoGP driver cards to broadcast graphics, Canal Doppler typeface is the engine behind Canal+ motorsports coverage.
Every piece, animated, static, or live, embodies the electric atmosphere and freedom of the track. This is type at full volume: bespoke, dynamic, and designed to put fans right in the heart of the action.
Inspired by mid-century motorsports print, Canal Doppler uses variable font technology to visually replicate race-day tension.
Its condensed style packs more details onto every screen, with open counters and bold forms for complete legibility. The variable format lets Canal+ dial up the drama, transitioning from clean starter grids to full-throttle, vibrating chaos at the finish.

Created for Canal+ and inspired by the Doppler Effect, this font captures the visceral thrill of the race, bringing chaos, energy, and motion to screen and print.
With NPO Nova, we created a harmonious look that allows for an infinite amount of complementary matching between fonts, and lots of freedom for each brand to convey its individuality.
Large counters and open apertures added to the clarity upon font reduction, and a slightly narrower set of proportions ensured we could use more characters per line, to help avoid eye fatigue when reading larger blocks of copy.
NPO Nova was created with legibility as the main priority. Knowing that the primary home for the new family would be on screens, individual letter distinction was key.
We used a humanist style, which has its roots in calligraphic forms, to ensure that each letter has clear features, while still working in harmony with the full letterset.
