How much rain have you seen in your area? ⛈️
Parts of South Australia recorded intense rain and thunderstorms "in a short space of time" last night, State Emergency Services said.
- Renmark 45.4mm
- Woomera 39mm
- Glenelg 29mm
- Port Augusta 19mm
- Mount Gambier 12.8mm
"That led to a number of houses being impacted by flooded gutters or overflowing gutters," SA SES state duty officer Scott Haynes said.

Go Rose! ✈️👏
18-year-old pilot Rose began her journey on April 6, solo circumnavigating Australia in a Cessna 172 (VH-DWE) to raise funds and awareness for @littlewingsaustralia , flying 15,000 km across 25 airports while aiming to become the youngest female pilot to complete the journey and prove that age and gender are no barriers to bold dreams. ❤️
“Little Wings is a children’s charity that provides free ongoing medical transport from regional areas to metropolitan hospitals—it really takes the strain off families already going through a tough time. All the money I raise on this trip will go towards fuel costs for their fleet of aircraft,” she said.

For the first time Australia will be featured in Michelin Guide.
South Australia has paid an undisclosed amount to be included in the French company’s world-renowned restaurant list.
The state government has pinned its hopes on the guide to bring economic growth to the hospitality and tourism sector, but not all experts agree the ‘Michelin effect’ is worth the bill.

Do you remember the mysterious gnomes of Blackwood? 👀
More than two decades ago, Blackwood and the Adelaide Hills made national headlines for one of the most unusual reasons — seemingly overnight, a “gravel” of garden gnomes appeared on rooftops across the town.
891 ABC Adelaide investigative features journalist Malcolm Sutton has now tracked down one of the original ‘Gnome Rangers’, convincing them to speak with 891’s Jo Laverty in one of the group’s rare media interviews.
Reflecting on the phenomenon, the anonymous Gnome Ranger shared:
“This goes back to 2003. We are a cohort of Blackwood locals, and we’re just so proud of the impact it’s had on that beautiful community.”

A 'force for good' 💚
Midnight Oil frontman Peter Garrett is in his second week as the new chair of Landcare Australia, a national not-for-profit organisation established in 1989 to drive sustainable land management and conservation.
Members include farmers, landholders, conservationists, First Nations organisations and traditional owners — a network of volunteers with a shared interest in making the land more resilient through native habitat restoration and protection.
"I was actually there at the very beginning when the National Farmers' Federation and the Australian Conservation Foundation, which I was a president of, took a proposal to prime minister Bob Hawke that a brand-new pioneering program called Landcare be set up," he told 891 ABC Adelaide.

Should we place bins in driveways for easy truck access? 🤔
Burnside Council’s Julia Grant is encouraging residents to consider placing their rubbish bins in driveways to improve waste collection.
Speaking with 891 ABC Adelaide’s Sonya and Jules, Ms Grant said parked cars on narrow streets are increasingly making it difficult for waste trucks to access bins.
“We’ve suggested residents place their bins in their driveways, as narrow streets with too many parked cars can prevent waste trucks from reaching them and this can result in missed collections,” she said.
