HOW WE HONORED GOD AT OUR WEDDING:
It was so important for Ryan and I to find some intimate time with the Lord at our wedding. We were so excited about the ceremony and having that honor the Lord in every way, from writing our own vows to having our officiant speak truth over us in the name of Jesus, but in us coming together as one, we wanted to prioritize having time with us two and God on our special day.
THE FIRST PRAYER:
Ryan and I didn’t do a first look, but we did do a first prayer and it was indescribable. In the pictures above, you can see a door in between us as we held hands. This is the first time we had heard each other‘s voices, talked to each other, or touched each other all day. It was such a beautiful moment and to be able to have my husband pray over our marriage and pray over our day. It was truly the most surreal feeling. Our first words to each other that day were given to the Lord, and to be able to start our marriage with giving our first fruits to God set the standard for our ministry as a married couple.
THE LAST DANCE:
After the amazing chaos of the wedding day, Ryan and I found time before our sendoff to have a last dance. We went back into the chapel where we got married and danced to the song “Million Little Miracles” by @elevationworship We sang the worship song together as we danced, like David danced, before the Lord. To start an end our wedding in the presence of the Holy Spirit made the moments not only matter more, but a set of foundation and expectation for how we will walk through life together as a unit.
We are so excited to be able to finally share this incredible journey of marriage with you all, and we pray that the Lord blesses you in the way that he sees fit. Thank you for all of your kind wedding wishes and marriage prayers. We will continue to share more about our special day and the special life ahead of us!

I was filming a video when I caught this moment on camera…
I didn’t prop my phone up to catch me crying on video or stage this moment for content… but I am glad this was caught on recording because Ryan and I feel it heavy on our hearts to share not only the joys of marriage but the hardships too.
It’s taken Ryan and I a little while to find our footing when it comes to handling moments of sadness. Ryan wants to problem solve in the moment, trying to find a solution to make the sadness go away. I, on the other hand, want to sit in the emotions and feel them, but I don’t know when to move on from those feelings and not let them take over my day. It wasn’t always easy, and it took us a while to get to this place where we met in the middle: Ryan sitting with me in my emotions, and I, sharing that with him instead of pulling myself away to spend the rest of the day upset.
Marriage is God honoring. Marriage reflects the unity Christ has with the church. Marriage is a powerful weapon for the kingdom, and sometimes an act of worship looks like sitting with your spouse and mourning with them. So, although this moment wasn’t planned, I can rejoice in the fact that we are able to share it, because this is real life. This is marriage, and we praise God for that🤍
