It’s that time of year 🥰 one of my favorite things about my hometown is that there is an emphasis on beauty, and that’s largely spearheaded by the work that is done via, and as a result of, the @indianapeonyfestival . Peonies are sturdy and low maintenance. They are a reliable pollination source for bees and ants… they’re an early launching pad for the work that will be done by these pollinators through the rest of the season. The peonies in the above pictures were right outside of my house when I lived in Alexandria, VA, before I knew anything about a Peony Fest. Now being back and having a new appreciation for home and the history that comes with it, I also carry a new appreciation for the things in life that hold up and stand reliable. The nature of these flowers reminds me of the ways that Noblesville has been both a launching pad and a landing place that has carried me to places like Alexandria, VA, or Sydney, Australia, amongst other places over the years. I know this to be true for so many others, whether they’ve gone away, stayed, or left for a time to return again later. If you don’t already have plans to make it to the festival this weekend, I recommend making the trip & soaking in the beauty of it all.

NEXT UP — Family Farm Minis June’s minis will be at the end of the month, and I wanted this one to feel like golden hour, summer memories at the stables. Throughout my life I’ve had family members with horses and cows and there’s something reminiscent about being the cousin from the suburbs tagging along for chores now and again with the cousins who could wrestle a cow if they had to. The location is locked in thanks to a wonderful family in Noblesville, come hang with me and the horses and get some good memories of this 2026 Summer. 🤠 Comment YEEHAW for the link to book before I make it available to everyone else. 5/6 spots left.

Perhaps the *most* athletic person I know. Also, always an encourager. Snapped some pics last week for @mar.klein_ and her new project @picklefitperformance . I LOVE that someone here locally is focusing on the intersection of fitness and pickleball and with such expertise. Go give her a follow and take advantage of her new program.

The last year or so was a reminder that God will gladly help us get rid of distractions in our lives if it means getting our attention again. I watched this video of a well known gossip celebrity who is in the process of discovering Jesus, and they were in tears talking about the “pruning” that their life was clearly going through. The idea that God was beginning to get rid of the dead weight and dead leaves that weren’t producing anything. Through tears he said something like “I just want my life to bear fruit”. There’s something about having “just enough”, or getting a glimpse of what truly satisfies our souls, that reroutes all our dependencies. Makes you aware of your own neediness. Humbles you enough to (wisely) let people in to walk with you. Something about having “just enough” that shifts your reliance and makes you aware of your need for Jesus and His kindness… and that He doesn’t withhold it even if we feel undeserving. This kindness literally transforms our hearts… doesn’t leave us the same. It goes beyond what we deserve. So then when you find yourself creeping into that land of “more than enough”, you don’t let it go in vain. Luke 12:48 - to whom much is given, much more is required. What have you been given? What can you now give? Happy Easter, I hope you discover the depths and fullness of life that is found in Jesus’ suffering and in his resurrection. He’s been near all along.
