Ecstatic to finally have this article out. I've had it on hand for over a year, trying to shop it to different publications. I even had my "Writer Big Sister" (@cesheredia ) look it over. So thankful that Insider took a leap on this piece that grapples with themes of transness and ED recovery π

After 2.5 years on a waitlist, I finally have a chance at stable housing with a Section 8 voucher. Moving in soon, I need essentials like furniture and basic supplies. Your support can make this dream a reality. Please share and consider donating to help me start fresh. Thank you! πππ»

UPDATE: Holy cow!!! I reached my goal wicked fast thanks to my community ππ Thank you everyone!!!!
Grateful to be receiving life-changing care! But the recovery process is tough, both physically and financially. Your contributing or simply sharing the link to my GoFundMe would be wonderful in helping me make ends meet and just have one less thing to worry about while healing π :)

On Halloween, nearly 500 vets and virgins alike turned out for our 50th anniversary Rocky Horror shadowcast. They pelted us with rice and toast while we danced in fishnets and thongs, and we all generally just had a gay ol' time. How funny that something so silly could be so very life-affirming.

Here are just a few of my favorite shots that @mia_jnot snapped of that special night:

3. Lips Burlesque started the show off with a bang
4. Brad finally proposed ππ I said yes!
5. Apparently you can make a man in just 7 days π§ͺβοΈπ§π»ββοΈ Who knew?

7. Columbia and Magenta want more more MORE!
8. I feeeeeeeeel re-leased! π₯΅
9. Great Scott!
10. Orjeeeeez are better with bubbles
11. I ate a piece of thrown toast during the finale and people cheered loud enough that I think I have hearing damage

It was an absolute pleasure getting to read 'Inverse Cowgirl' before it comes out next week, and to speak with the author, Alicia Roth Weigel (even if Zoom did cut our talk short!). If you've never learned about the plight of intersex individuals, please read our interview and please read this supercool activist's inspiring memoir β¨οΈπ

It's been almost 5 years since I came out as trans. 5 years since I started living more authentically. For nearly half a decade, I've gone through awkward phases and uncomfortable eras. But I feel more like myself everyday π

Still pinching myself. Don't feel real. I continue to make progress in my writing career. I'm literally fulfilling lifelong dreams, getting closer and closer to my ultimate goal of getting a book published.
.
What's more is that some people in my life told me that I wouldn't be successful for being openly queer or for writing about taboo subjects. I sure don't look like a lotta people's conceptions of success: my bank account is woeful. But I remember telling my dad when I was 14 that I'd be happy working most jobs so long as I had time and energy to write.
.
I'm finally in print. It's just an excerpt of a story, but I'm celebrating nonetheless :)
Interviewing @sirilindley was joyful and inspiring. You can find the link to our interview in my bio or on my story βοΈ

Her story is one of drive, resilience, and self-acceptance π Many will be blessed by her wonderful new memoir / self-help book, 'Finding A Way: Taking the Impossible and Making it Possible.'
