Thank you to all the incredible mothers and daughters who attended the Mother Daughter Dinner at Miramare Gardens on Friday evening last week. Over 900 people gathered to celebrate the wonderful bond between mother and daughter. Featuring some delightful performances, and an interview with our Head Prefect, Laura and her mum, the event concluded with a packed dancefloor full of fun and smiles!

We are thrilled to share that Emmalyn and Amber represented CIS at the NSW PSSA Tennis Championships yesterday with the team taking the overall win! Both girls delivered outstanding performances, remaining undefeated in singles throughout the entire tournament. A special congratulations to Amber, who has been selected for the NSW PSSA team and will go on to compete at the Australian Schools event in Queensland this August.

Congratulations to the Day Girls who won the Tuesday Boarders vs Day Girls Hockey 1-0, and the Football today 3-0. The Boarders team put up a fierce challenge despite the rain (and fleeting rainbow!) today, but couldn't quite bring home the win for National Boarding Week. For more pics from Hockey and Football, head to our Facebook page.

Congratulations to Ines, Emily, and Annanya who took part in the IGSA Dance Festival at the Sydney Dance Company. This was a wonderful opportunity for them to work with expert choreographers and professional performers, as well as to collaborate with and learn alongside students from other IGSA schools.

Last Thursday, Year 11 Ancient History students visited the Chau Chak Wing Museum at Sydney University. Students were led by archaeologists on a tour through the Nicholson collection and later undertook a hands-on session where they were able to handle artefacts to investigate which civilisation they came from.

Celebrating a phenomenal achievement! Congratulations to the Abbotsleigh Cross Country team on an outstanding performance, placing 1st overall at today’s carnival! Both our incredible students and dedicated staff have shown unwavering commitment throughout the preparation—this result is a true reflection of their hard work, resilience, and team spirit. Coming off a strong 3rd place finish in 2025, it is fantastic to see the team rise to the top this year. A huge congratulations to every girl who ran today—giving your absolute personal best and contributing to something bigger than yourselves. We are so proud of you all!

Year 6 enjoyed hearing from several engaging parent guest speakers who shared their experiences of living in countries across Asia. As part of their HSIE learning and Geography research project, students explored the rich diversity of Asia while also recognising the many similarities and connections shared with life in Australia. The authentic perspectives offered by the parents brought learning to life and enriched students’ understanding of the world around them. We are incredibly grateful to have such generous parents in our school community who willingly share their time, experiences and insights with our students.

The stage is set in St Louis, Missouri, as the VEX Robotics VEX IQ World Championships get underway! Among the world’s best robotics teams, we are incredibly proud to see Abbotsleigh Junior School representing Australia on the global stage. As the only all‑girls Australian team at the tournament, their achievement is remarkable — made even more so as this is their first year competing in VEX Robotics. We have been genuinely blown away by the learning, growth and confidence these girls have demonstrated. From mastering new skills to developing resilience through competition, their journey to Worlds reflects dedication, teamwork and perseverance. Qualifying for the World Championships is an extraordinary achievement, and we could not be prouder of our girls. To us, they are already winners, and their journey is only just beginning. Congratulations, Alicia, Cecilia, Louise, Macie, Michelle, and Sammy.
