For International Jazz Day, we’re celebrating the Golden Age of Jazz through the lens of Herman Leonard (1923 - 2010).
For over five decades, Leonard immersed himself in the Jazz world, trading prints for entry into clubs in the 1940s. His atmospheric portraits captured legends like Miles Davis, Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra. With his work appearing on more than 200 album covers he is widely regarded as the most genre defining Jazz Photographer of his time and through his photography he immortalised both the artists and the spirit of Jazz.
Who is your favourite Jazz Photographer?
We asked you to share your favourite photographers and here they are!
