😭By the way 💔💔💔
It is beyond frustrating to have to halt our operations once again due to a lack of donations. We are deeply saddened that our work has to stop despite the urgent need. We urgently need support to keep going.

🚨 URGENT: OUR KITCHEN IS EMPTY 🚨
We hate to say it, but we’ve failed our families today. Due to lack of funds, we are CLOSING.
The children are waiting, but our pots are empty. We’ve reached out many times, but we are still short. Please, help us bring the fire back to our kitchen.
Donate urgently here: 👉 chuffed.org/project/126780…
Every dollar means a warm meal. Don't let them go hungry. 💔
The Heartbreaking Reality of Al-Abbasiya Takia
Guided by the desperate pleas of hungry children and struggling families, we pushed ourselves to reopen the Al-Abbasiya Takia, despite nearly empty cupboards and dwindling support. We simply couldn't look into their eyes and say "no."
To those who have donated or retweeted: Your kindness is our lifeline. Thank you.@bsonblast@waladkosti@sudaneserefugeesorg@sudan_hf@intergenerational_jews@lila_landaloussi@basmakhalifa
and everyone #donatus.
But today, we face a devastating truth. We are forced to suspend operations this week. The gap is simply too wide to bridge:
Our last donation (2 days ago): only £35.
Cost of a single day of meals: $100.
It breaks our hearts to turn away the families waiting at our doors, but our resources have completely run out. We are hanging on by a thread and need your help to keep the fires burning. 💔

They reach out to us with tears in their eyes, asking the same heartbreaking question: "When will the kitchen open its doors again?"
To everyone whom God has blessed with abundance: Our community kitchen is in desperate need of support to resume its work. Your contribution is more than just a donation—it is the reason a hungry child will smile again today.
Be the relief they pray for. Help us lift the burden of hunger.

Join us this Mother’s Day for a meaningful and community-centered fundraiser in support of the Sudan Humanitarian Foundation (SHF). This special gathering honors not only mothers, but also chosen family—the people who nurture, support, and sustain us through love, care, and solidarity.
Taking place on Sunday, May 10 at 2:00 PM at Boyfriend Co-op in Brooklyn NYC, this interactive workshop invites guests into a space of learning, connection, and creativity. Together, we will explore Sudanese culture and traditions while raising critical funds for communities impacted by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan. (Sorry for typo on flyer it says May 11, that is incorrect)
Participants will have the opportunity to create traditional self-care items such as دلكة (dilka) and بخور (bakhoor)—practices deeply rooted in Sudanese wellness, care, and ritual.
This event is open to all. Whether you come with family, friends, or on your own, you are welcome here.
Come learn. Come create. Come care, with us, and for Sudan.

🚨🚨The Takia has fallen hauntingly silent. For two weeks, the fires have been cold and the pots empty.
52 orphaned families and over 500 souls displaced by war are now facing a hunger as relentless as the conflict itself. We cannot let another week pass in silence. Your donation is their only lifeline. 💔

💔It breaks our hearts to say this: Due to the severe shortage of funds, we’ve been forced to cut meal portions and limit distribution only to those at death’s door. 💔
We wanted to feed everyone, but the dwindling donations gave us no choice. However, we couldn’t stop—the desperate pleas of our families in Al-Abbassia haunted us. We are fighting to keep the Takiya alive with the bare minimum.
Please, don't make us choose who gets to eat. Help us feed them all. 🙏🇸🇩

🇸🇩Week 2: No fire. No food. No support. Our Takiya has gone dark because the world has turned its back on Sudan. Local donations aren't enough to fight this hunger alone. Don’t let them starve in silence.

There is no heavier burden than failing those who placed their trust in you. To my people in Al-Abbassia: I am deeply sorry that we couldn't get the Takiya running again. As a promise to you, I am pivoting this account to be a platform solely for your support and your needs. I stand with you, always."
Our hearts are heavy. Every day, families come to us asking for food, but our warehouses are empty. Since Ramadan, we provided diverse meals for the young and old, but now we stand paralyzed. 52 orphaned families and 600 war-affected people are waiting, and we have nothing left to give. The silence of empty pots is deafening. We need your support to feed them again. 💔🙏

😞It is agonizing to watch these empty pots wait for food that doesn’t come. Since Ramadan, we’ve fought to provide meat, rice, and lentils to those in need. But now, with aid halted, we stand helpless before 52 orphaned families and over 600 people displaced by war. They are hungry, and our hands are tied. Please help us feed them. 💔🙏
