50 years ago the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally marked the beginning of a new era in rally racing.
It was completely reengineered by Abarth from the Fiat 131 Mirafiori. Lightweight aluminum and fibreglass body. A 2.0L twin-cam 16-valve engine built for one thing only: winning.
And that’s exactly what it did. Three manufacturers’ titles in the World Rally Championship. 1977. 1978. 1980.

In 1956, Abarth didn’t just race. It raised the bar.
The Fiat Abarth 750 Record Bertone was built to push every limit, driven by extreme aerodynamics and an obsession with performance.
At Monza, the Scorpion turned endurance into dominance, setting a series of records destined to make history.
This isn’t just speed. This is the moment Abarth became legend.

Abarths put the 'hot' into hot hatches!
The term originated here in the UK in the 1980s to describe small compact cars with surprisingly big performance.
The Abarth 695 is the perfect example: compact, light, but with character beyond its size. 🦂
