We come together under airstrikes, from Palestine to Lebanon to the world to to collectively call you for urgent practice of general world strikes to stop the genocide and Z10nist occupation of our lands and people. Strike against the airstrikes. Strike against colonial systems of gexde. We collectively remind you that the gncd won’t stop if we don’t stop the world that makes it. As our collective life cannot wait any longer, we plead you all to consider this call to strike to be effective immediately. For trade union organizations and groups who need to communicate in advance, we advise you to adhere to the consensus-based starting date of October 1st, 2024. We recognize that we should have halted non-vital work as a form of collective protest from the first day of the gnoside. How can we work, serve and profit from a global economy that structurally and lucratively produces genocide? We come together today to invite you to put the multi-scalar power of your labor resistance at work. Criminalize Z01010nism within your own localities. Normalize Resistance. The power of our collective labor resistance is great. Palestine is liberating the world. We urge you to: 🫀sacrifice your privileges until they are all shared; 🫀 do not go to work; 🫀do not buy anything; 🫀support mutual aid efforts in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Yemen and Syria; 🫀take care of the Earth; 🫀disrupt academic activities and transmute them in service of our anti-militarist collective action; 🫀 disrupt and dismantle the military-industry-academic-medical-economic-entertainment complex; 🫀provide for each other’s needs and organize a collective flow of sustenance centered around local produce, so our global strike can be sustainably repeated until our goals are attained; 🫀riot, protest and organize continuous direct actions; 🫀provide communal solace and community care; 🫀agree from the start on caring abolitionist frameworks to generatively deal with both internal and external conflicts; 🫀create alternative health, education and communication systems; 🫀imagine and plot our collective liberation! 🔉🫀✊🏽🔉🫀✊🏽🔉 #worldstrikeagainstzionism

في نهاية المطاف، نناضل من أجل الحرية لأننا من أهلها. Certain is my heart in knowing that nothing that we have passed through in Lebanon has been harder than what we are living through now. It is true that I haven’t directly experienced all what my ancestors did, yet I can’t see the colonial campaign we are facing in discontinuity to what they have went through before I was born. Seriously, we can end this continuum with a love bigger than the present. The more I read through 20th century history, the more I find myself in a recursive ring of violence, with the same profiteers and compradors, and perhaps, more people ready to give everything to embody their ancestors’ hope. We do not only inherit the pain, but also the (post-?)traumatic growth, and sadly, so much protracted mourning. I wish to carry my heart in dignity and experience my mourning so no one inherits it on my behalf. Yet, I also wouldn’t put the blame on those dispossessed who believed that they can only survive through auto-denial. These are systemic problems. So when we mourn today, we can mourn for and with multiple generations. And that is the antidote of defeatism – not the other way around. May our grief become radiant with transformation.

‎تعميم بيان صادر عن “تجمّع أبناء البلدات الجنوبية الحدودية”. نأمل منكم قراءة البيان ومشاركته على نطاق واسع.
Relaying a statement issued by the “Assembly of the People of the Lebanese Southern Border Towns”. Please read and support with circulation. Wherever we are, we need to investigate and stop the “Trump Peace Colony”(the name could be of a different wording as the plan was divulged in an Arabic translation) from being forced atop of the land of the indigenous people of Southern Lebanon!

Amal Khalil remained rooted in the south of Lebanon, in the soil that raised her, in the orchards and hills that carried her childhood, in a land where memory and resistance are inseparable. She did not arrive to the story. She was part of it. The land was not a backdrop to her work, it was her source. For more than two decades, Amal reported from the frontlines with the clarity of someone who belongs to the land and its people. She knew the villages, the roads, the weight of each place name, the way people hold onto land even under bombardment. Her journalism was not distance. It was witness shaped by proximity, by history, by love. To report on her people was to defend them. To document their lives was to insist they could not be erased. She spoke on corruption and injustice without compromise, enduring threats meant to silence her, yet she remained rooted. Even within occupation, she nurtured life. The garden she planted with her father, the trees that continued to bear fruit, the stray cats she protected. She carried an understanding long held by Indigenous women: care is part of resistance. To tend to land, to animals, to people, is to refuse the logic of destruction. Amal Khalil did not just report on the south, she belonged to it, and her devotion to truth will continue to empower us into justice.
