One year ago today, I went to the ER for intense stomach pain and had emergency surgery to remove parts of multiple organs. It was the first day in a long year filled with pain, fear, shame, dread and discomfort. After living with a stoma for months and recovering from a second surgery, I’m healthier than I’ve been in ages, which is exciting for me! 🦋🦋
