She planned it all. A mix of incredible sightseeing, unforgettable tours, and getting to see some of the most beautiful wildlife up close, all while chomping on some of the freshest fruit earth has to offer. All while our little guy was back home having his own adventure with my parents (big thanks mom & dad!). We decided we’ll definitely be bringing him back here one day.
Grateful for my amazing wife, and the all the thought she put into this trip to make it the most unforgettable birthday!

Turning 40 next month has me thinking differently about health.
To me, health is about being proactive. It’s about knowing what’s going on inside my body before there’s a problem. That’s why I partnered with @function .
Function Health’s annual membership includes two blood tests per year, measuring over 100 biomarkers on heart health, metabolic health, hormones, inflammation, nutrients, and more. Instead of the standard, basic panel most of us get at a routine physical, this is a deep dive. You get physician notes and recommendations, clear explanations of what everything means, and a game plan on how to implement positive changes in areas you find may need improvement.
The thing I really find helpful is tracking my health and biomarkers over time. Seeing the trends and making sure they’re trending positively so I know the work im doing is actually working.
If you’ve been wanting to take more ownership of your health, this is a powerful place to start.
I also have a referral code for $50 off if you want to sign up. Just message me and I’ll send it your way.
More energy. More strength. More years of moments like these that matter.
That’s my why. #functionpartner
Built from scratch with love, sweat and possibly a tear or two. Couldn’t of have done it without my “supervisor” who took his job very seriously 🛠️ #diy
I draw it, he builds it.
From blank wall to dream @midaugustphoto desk.
Proof that marrying the guy who can DIY is a SOLID life choice.
Forever amazed by you @aaronoconnell

After weeks of work, Avery’s toddler room is finally complete. Natalie and I wanted to create a space for all the things he loves: a room for reading, playing, and watching the ducks and the great blue heron he named Blue.
I built a window seat with a sconce for bedtime stories, shelves with built-in lighting, and added wainscoting around the room. We repurposed artwork from his nursery, thrifted the furniture, and Nana sewed the cushion.
The best part was having him by my side throughout the entire build. He left his own touches on the room and never missed a chance to pull out the tape measure. According to him, everything came out to “8 and a half” inches.
Safe to say, he’s proud of his new room, and so I am.
Now I’ve got to figure out where he put all my tools.
This Father’s Day I’m feeling grateful for my little man, but missing my first best friend who’s no longer here. Through it all, my wife made today relaxing and full of love. I feel lucky and proud to be their dad. 💙💙
How do you say goodbye to your best friend? I couldn’t, because I know he’ll always be with us. I thanked him for the greatest 10 years of companionship I’ve ever known, for choosing us to be his family. He loved us just as much as we loved him, and he knew the best ways to show it. Coming home to Fig was a celebration of that love every time. It’s hard to open the door and not see him wiggling about, bringing us his toys and nuzzling his face into our hands. Our house feels empty without him here. There’s a silence where there was once the pitter patter of his paws behind me everywhere I went. He was with me always, and that’s what we both wanted—to be together whenever possible. He watched me tinker with things at the airport while he laid in his bed in the sun just outside my hangar. He made our 5 mile runs on the beach look easy, and he kept up with his Grandpa’s 5 mile hikes on top of it. He was there when we traveled all across the US for work and family, and I loved falling asleep next to him in hotel beds (the only time he ever wanted to be in any bed other than his own).
Anyone that knew Fig was amazed by him. He brought so much joy to others. Even all the Lowe’s employees knew him by name, and looked forward to our many visits. He could sniff out a treat in a pocket, and always offered up his back for a little scratch. Tyler Perry once gave him a shout-out in a Madea play (“that good boy Fig!”) because he knew we were in the audience that night. He modeled for dog apparel companies and coffee books with more poise than I could ever achieve, and was so beloved by many on social media.
Two things I always told Fig was, “this is my good buddy” and “you did a good job” as he continued to impress me every day. He was a tough guy, fighting off illnesses like paralysis when he was 2, and seizures when he was 5. When an aggressive cancer reared its ugly head last year, I knew he wasn’t going to go down without a fight. I’ve never witnessed more resilience in the way he handled all the hopeful treatments we so desperately sought. He took everything we threw at him, until we felt it was no longer to his benefit, only our own. (continued in comment below)
