We made a mural.
Over a year ago, @leonardo.vrgas and I decided we wanted to do something big. We wanted to stamp our marks on Palo Alto in the best way we knew how, and began on a long and testing process that would drive us mad but leave us feeling so proud.
To Mr. Hassett and the crew at @hassettacehardware , thank you so much for your patience and generosity. To Ms. DeMarzo, Ms. Chuprina, Ms. Perez, and @cityofpaloalto , we are so grateful you saw what we wanted to accomplish and were willing to help make it happen.
We did that ✌️
in less than a week, my painting '(im)mortal' will be on display in the @deyoungmuseum ...🤯
seriously honored to be among the select artists represented in this incredible exhibition, especially at a museum i admired so much growing up—to be a part of it now is unreal.

high jump always weighed so heavy on me, which is why it was relatively easy to step away. always jumping for something, the pressure, the promises. that stuff compounds crazy.
coaching offered me something new—a way to keep the sport i love close while at a much healthier distance. over the last 5 months that’s where my energy has been, learning and growing. not for me, but for someone else. someone who maybe saw a video online and wanted to try that cool-looking thing. someone who maybe always wanted to try, but wasn’t sure they’d be any good at it. someone who maybe just wanted to get out of sprint workouts.
i decided on a whim 2 weeks ago that i wanted to compete again. 2 weeks to knock off rust. no goals, no expectations, just experience to help me be a better coach for my athletes.
all my years in this sport and i’ve never felt so free…how bout that?
big shoutout to my friends and family who came and showed love yesterday, and to my paly high jumpers who i wouldn’t be here without 🤍 btw we got 200s tmrw
