Something a bit different today I recently painted a mural in my daughters bedroom. I really enjoyed the process and it was way more emotional than I’d anticipated. Thinking about how these were gonna be some of the first images she sees as she becomes aware of the world. Im already eyeing up other places in my house to paint.
Some soft smudgey charcoal life drawings. When I draw with charcoal I try to make marks as if I was painting and forget about line. It makes me draw faster and not get bogged down in detail. It helps to use the side of charcoal and smudge it around with something soft. I never like my life drawings when I finish them. It takes me a year or so to separate from the feeling of wanting to have done more and think, thats quite good actually.
