What’s it like taking lessons with Aaron? Excellent question! As your singing teacher, my aim is to work with the voice you have, and find ways to make your vocal function easier, more versatile and stable. No quick fixes here I’m afraid. On my website, you’ll find lots of testimonials from a variety of performers, some starting out in their careers and some with multiple shows on their CV. Each client is different, with their own needs and goals, and that’s represented in the people I work with. Ideally, your first four - six lessons should be within weeks of one another, this is so we can get to work on your habitual singing, and start to make changes where needed. Singing takes time, effort and care both in and out of lessons, and each client is expected to take the work home with them and continue their progress - this is a non-negotiable if you wish to see true improvement. My clients do not have a signature “sound”, each one is an individual, with their own vocal styles and colouring and I want to embrace that - and help you to embrace it too! I watched four shows last week and I am bloody knackered tbh babe and it was all a bit much cos what is my life atm it’s surreal. On Monday I went back to my old training ground, The LSMT to watch their production of “Lady In The Dark” with the most gorgeous Kurt Weill score and excellent performances throughout. Getting to chat with some of my old tutors some of whom I haven’t seen since I left (gulp) 15 years ago was gass tbh. Next up I was able to take my mum to watch client Janette Manrara at the London Palladium in her touring production of “Let’s Face the Music, and Dance!” which was such an incredible show. Getting an official programme credit as a vocal coach (first one yet) was also surreal. Mum loved it too “get a good pic of me for the girls at the office” - thanks so much Janette. 🩶 Friday I got to watch my graduating third years in their industry showcase at the Bloomsbury Theatre with some gorgy colleagues and friends. The show was incredibly slick and I was so proud of Elise, Taylor, Zack and the whole company. And last but certainly not least I got to watch one of my ArtsEd SF students Gino, in his professional stage debut leading the UK Tour of “The Karate Kid” musical. Watching him soar through the score with such ease and precision was delightful and shows that hard work really does pay off! Very limited spaces for lessons through to June. Absolutely blown away by the performances in “Choir Boy” last week at Stratford East. I laughed, cried and left feeling truly inspired. Hughie O’Donnell will be stepping into the role of “Baker” full time in a few weeks for the extension of The Bridge Theatre’s epic production of Into the Woods. He is currently rehearsing with new cast members daily and performing each evening as The Steward, covering the role of Baker.
