AAPI Anthologies: Folklore Performer Spotlight: @miss.morticia.atoms 🦇 Morticia Atoms (she/her) doesn’t want you to torture yourself, that’s her job. This thick-thighed thing that goes bump in the night delights in combining her love of horror and animation to haunt audiences’ imaginations. She’s also proud to be the reason all her cousins in Thailand and Laos had a goth phase. So please, put your snaps together for the creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky showgirl from Baltimore! Prepare to obsess over Morticia when she haunts the stage THIS Friday for AAPI Anthologies: Folklore! 📍THIS Friday, May 15th at @pubkey.dc ! 🎟 are going fast on sale via our website and link in b i o 🐇 🐇 ABOUT AAPI ANTHOLOGIES 🐇 Established in 2024 in NYC and hosted by Happy Bun Bun, this show aims to promote cultural and political empathy across intersectional audiences while combating the model minority myth through burlesque, draglesque, and performance art. @aapi.anthologies

AAPI Anthologies: Folklore Performer Spotlight: @curlybrightproductions 🧨 Curly Bright (she/they) is a Virginia-born burlesque dancer and acrobat who has been getting naked on stages since 2015, despite being raised by extremely Catholic Filipino parents. (spoiler alert: the parents know about the burlesque, and she hasn’t been disowned. Yet.) Their performance repertoire includes chair acrobatics, aerial Lyra, and fire eating. When not performing and finding new and dangerous ways to stunt on stage, Curly flexes their makeup artistry diploma by offering makeup workshops for stage, clown, drag, and cosplay. No boring looks here! We can’t wait to catch Curly again on stage for AAPI Anthologies: Folklore! 🤩 📍THIS Friday, May 15th at @pubkey.dc 🎟 🎟️🎟️ on sale (for now!) via our website and link in b i o 🐇 🐇 ABOUT AAPI ANTHOLOGIES 🐇 Established in 2024 in NYC and hosted by Happy Bun Bun, this show aims to promote cultural and political empathy across intersectional audiences while combating the model minority myth through burlesque, draglesque, and performance art. @aapi.anthologies

Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander month by witnessing our folklore come to life on stage with AAPI Anthologies in partnership with the International Nerdlesque Festival! 📍Friday, May 15th at @pubkey.dc AAPI Anthologies (AAPIA) is an annual showcase of Asian American & Pacific Islander performers across the gender and cultural diaspora. AAPIA emphasizes that there is no singular “correct” way to identify as AAPI - our heritages, cultures, and experiences are vast and diverse. When our families immigrated to America, they brought those cultures with them in many different ways. One was warning us with scary stories and folk tales from their childhood to keep us on our best behavior. What creatures creep in the night in Korea or China? What wandering eyes follow wayward souls in South India, or the tired traveler in Thailand? Are you prepared to peer down the path of pre-colonial Filipino lore? Experience how our heritage has influenced our all AAPI cast, join us in gleeful games, and enter for a chance to win our raffle spanning our cultures! 🎟 are already on sale via our website and link in b i o 🐇 🐇 ABOUT AAPI ANTHOLOGIES 🐇 Established in 2024 in NYC and hosted by Happy Bun Bun, this show aims to promote cultural and political empathy across intersectional audiences while combating the model minority myth through burlesque, draglesque, and performance art.
