🥇Help AALEAD sponsor youth runners at Georgetown HOYA Clinic's Annual IronMed 5K fundraiser! AALEAD Youth Council Fellows have been hard at work this year researching health inequities in Washington, D.C. Fellows have been meeting with policy experts from Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum, learning how to speak with local lawmakers via DC Action, and are presenting their findings to fellow AALEADers and community partners.🥇
👏Supporting this race is one way we can turn our research into action and help expand healthcare for the communities that need it the most! We are hoping to sponsor 10 youth runners.👏
Please donate through the GiveButter link in our bio, just $18 can fund HALF a youth runner.
Thank you ALL for continually supporting AALEAD youth and uplifting the DC Community!
*Youth who are interested in being sponsored by AALEAD and running, please complete the interest form in our bio.
*Community members who want to RUN this event should register on their own (link on our fundraiser page).

The AALEAD DC High School Youth Council is a collective of 15 youth members, including Youth Council Ambassadors, who organize together to address the needs and wants of the AALEAD Middle and High School Community, as well as the broader Washington DC area. Through Youth Council, youth take on leadership roles and gain skills in event planning, public speaking, group facilitation and processing, collaborative work, and community outreach. Youth Council members shape programming through generating ideas and bringing the needs of their peers and their community to the planning process. Youth Council is an invaluable opportunity to grow as a leader and advocate, both in programs and the larger community.
